A voting guide as a political instrument

A working group or campaign group wants politics to take its subject seriously. With Matchoice it launches its own voting guide and invites every party to answer the statements. Whoever answers has to study the group’s positions. That is promotion, research and lobbying in one.

Four steps: statements, invitation, parties study the subject, in the spotlight
  • Personal link and password per party, with a formal invitation explaining who is asking and why.
  • Position, weight and explanation per statement, plus the party’s own text.
  • Editors approve, then the party goes live in the voting guide.
  • Final = locked: what a party said before the election stays on record.
  • Complete logbook: when mailed, opened, submitted, approved.
  • Voter data as an argument: how many took part, where and how old, which statements divide them.
